REALITY By Okpe Andy

REALITY

A dream it is that I now dream.
With grace and elegance
She moves with a stride
All so relevant.
Call her fearless and right you'll be
For even I am scared of loving me
Yet her love she showers on my dark soul
In cascading sequence
As the waterfalls unhindered.

A dream it is
For my imagination can only paint
But a frail, blur picture of her beauty.
Tell it to the sun
For she needs not the sun to glow
Her glow glorifies the sun.
Tell it to the wind
And let the wind know of her hair
The elegance with which it moves
With the tide of the wind.

A dream more so real
Yet so imperfect
For her perfection shames me
Of my imperfections
Her grace plunges me out of my strength
And her strength is a snare to my weakness
A weakness that has made me
Think she is all but a dream.

WANDERER By Okpe Andy

WANDERER

As I walk out all seem so well
Step after step I make my move
Gazing, walking to a place called nowhere
For to exchange my boredom for pleasure

As I walk, I listen but I hear not
I look but see not
For mine ears are clutched with my stupidity
And mine eyes with my folly

Estranged voices beckon
But so busy is my walk that I hear not.
"Where to?" They ask
A question I dare not answer

I dare not answer
For in answering my folly will be known
In answering, I fear I shall be called what I fear the most
A wanderer

You yourselves judge
Is it wandering that makes me walk with no destination?
Or my wondering what it is that lies up ahead in Nowhere
Whatever you judge
Please judge me not a wanderer

FEARLESS by Okpe Andy

FEARLESS
(THE CRY OF A TORN HEART)

Relax, don't be afraid, stand fearless.
These echoes bewilder my failing heart
In resonance,
I hear the voices beckoning
Hold on they say
Be fearless they cry.

Fearless.
Now my mind wanders
What doth this mean?
Shall I cast away fear
Or shall I fear but less?
Shall I not be afraid
Or shall I be afraid only but a little?

My soul searches.
What call is this?
If you say that I fear not
How shall I betray the trust of my emotions?
Who shall teach me this subtle art of subterfuge?
For deeply seated in the dark of my heart
is a ponder so heavy I might faint.

My soul searches again.
What call is this?
If you say that I fear less
Tell me I pray you
How to make less that which has no measure
Abundant
The English man calls it
Yet he has no measure for that which he has named

My soul searches
And you answer me not.
If I find solace in fear
Then fear I must
And until you find a measure,
Speak no more to me of
FEAR-LESS
